UX Research and Design

UX Development, Graphics: 2016 — Present

Background: Under the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, regions throughout the United States have created central one-stop career centers, which bring together partners in local workforce education and training to serve youth and adult job-seekers.

My role: I work with the WorkSource Georgia Mountains One-Stop Career Center to produce and maintain a public-facing website for the center, provide web and accessibility support, and design materials for print and web. I coordinated platform choice for the website and maintain hosting, and I have trained on-the-ground staff members to operate components of the website's backend. Much of my work involves:

  • Ensuring design compliance with state branding standards for all one-stop career centers
  • Supporting accessibility in coordination with local language and ability needs, including automatic translation
  • Facilitating the web activity of One-Stop Career Center partners, including private scheduling and room request functionality on the website
  • Maintaining up-to-date career information and calendars
