WORC UGA (Women's Outreach and Resource Collective at the University of Georgia) Public Relations Director and Co-Founder: 2013 — 2016
Background: WORC, the Women's Outreach and Resource Collective. began as a student-led Student Government Association task force to advocate for a women's center on campus. For two academic years, WORC now partnered with and supported UGA's Women's Resource Initiative, as well as hosted its own events. Our most popular media push, the Georgia Feminist shirt, was designed in collaboration with local design house Satisfactory, and benefitted The Cottage and Project Safe.
My roles: I co-founded WORC in 2013. As Public Relations Director and Editor, I was responsible for all messaging and creative direction for the organization. Much of my work was concentrated in the following areas:
- Management of daily online publication and team of two dozen writers
- Creative direction of design, branding, and external communications
- Coordination of logistics for international Georgia Feminist merchandise campaign
- Creation of all graphics for our social media presences and website, which I coded
- Collaboration with our executive board on long-term initiatives and short-term creative projects, including messaging, events, and cooperation with University offices
- Optimization of intra-organization communication by migrating the team to Slack and training members to use the platform
