Metadata Transformation

Background: As part of a graduate-level course, I worked with a partner to capture and transform metadata associated with missing or found pets in the Austin area. Together, we used open government data to create DogMA, a tool to visualize the interaction of local animal services organizations with the community.

My role: Based on a data dictionary that my partner and I developed together, I created the schema that allows the five DogMA datasets to talk to one another inside the mapping tool. I also used OpenRefine to clean, sort, and standardize all of the data we used to create the tool.
